Hellenic Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (HAPOS)
COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE:
Dr. Nikolaos Kozeis, MD, Ph.D, FEBO, FICO, MRCOPHTH
The society was set up about 9 years ago, but our new board is going to try to make it more active. There is an increasing interest in this field among the young doctors. In Greece, as in many other countries in Europe and elsewhere, there are no ophthalmic paramedics like orthoptists and only a few optometrists (instead there are many dispensing opticians). That is why we have not too many members, considering that among the 100 members only 30% of them had a complete training in Pediatric Ophthalmology & strabismus (fellowship abroad).
