IOA Volunteer Program

The International Orthoptic Association (IOA) represents orthoptic associations from 24 countries. One of our mandates is to enhance eye health care in under-served areas of the world through our volunteer program. This program links volunteers with individuals in developing countries and organizations engaged in volunteer missions; particularly in pediatric ophthalmology and aon strabismus. We have a global bank of qualified orthoptists eager to assist who possess advanced knowledge and skills in pediatric vision assessment, diagnosis and management of strabismus and amblyopia, screening techniques, visual fields, refraction, and provision of low vision services.
