Marilyn Miller International Travel Grant
The Marilyn Miller International Fund was created in 2012 by the Children’s Eye Foundation and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) in honor of Marilyn Miller, MD for her wonderful work in international ophthalmology. The International Travel Grant strives to increase the support network and skill development for international pediatric ophthalmologists. This grant allows pediatric ophthalmologists, who would not normally have the means, to attend the AAPOS conference in the United States. By attending the conference, these doctors gain the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in procedure and technology, converse with other pediatric ophthalmologists about what they are doing in their practices, establish valuable connections in the field, and allow the grantees to share their ideas with a greater pediatric community. The grant includes: waived fees for the conference, a complementary hotel room, and a stipend to help alleviate the cost of travel to the conference.
